Business Council

The Newtonville Business Chamber of Commerce
Consisting of small and large businesses, commercial property owners, and residents, the Business Council is creating a strategic business plan to increase commerce, serve residents/pedestrians, and make the downtown a sustainable investment for commercial property owners. Elements include:

Create list of, and outreach effort to, local businesses and commercial property owners.
Devise cross marketing plan.
Determine best types of new businesses, in order to attract more overall commerce.
Plan Buy in Newtonville educational campaign for residents and businesses.
Explore collective purchasing arrangements for local businesses,
Develop local industry in collaboration with Newton North and businesses.
Give input to Urban Planning and Clean Streets Teams on beautification (commercial signage, facades, sidewalks..) and transportation (improve bus/rail connections, traffic, parking).
Coordinate with Austin Street (proposing development of commercial and residential space).
