The Urban planning team is creating a vision to unify the physical look of the downtown (redesigned/renovated streets, sidewalks, median strip, traffic flow, facades, public transportation hubs…. The team aims to increase the village’s visual appeal and utility to residents, businesses, potential shoppers, and commercial property owners. The team will plan for a downtown that becomes a magnet for pedestrians looking to shop, stroll, and enjoy community.

Clean Streets

The Clean Streets Team collaborates with the Urban Planning Team to effect street beautification (appealing trash cans, shade trees, street lights, plantings, etc.). The team also liaisons with the City on trash collection/snow removal, and supervises a Clean Streets campaign to permanently reduce littering. The current short term goal is to explore replacing decrepit trash cans on Walnut and Washington as a first step in the Clean Streets Campaign.
