Dear resident,
In the aftermath of the recent rain storm, which left several commercial and residential properties damaged, the City of Newton will hold an informational session to help residents and business owners answer any questions they may have about the recovery process. Representatives from Senator John Kerry´s office, as well as the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development will be on hand to address any concerns surrounding reimbursement for uninsured losses. The City of Newton will also have representatives from the Police Department, Health and Human Services, and Public Works on hand.

The position involves 3-4 hours of work per week over the course of the 2009/10 school year, beginning in November. Work location is flexible and position can be used to fulfill high school or college credit. The goal of the position is to increase use of the site by community organizations and residents. The intern will work closely with members of the OurNewton Launch committee to achieve the growth goals. Though this position is titled “Internship” and well-suited to students, we welcome applications from community members of all ages who are interested in the project and have the necessary skills.
