Newton Touch-a-Truck
On Sunday, October 18th, The Newton Partnership is hosting the inaugural Newton Touch-A-Truck event from noon-4pm, at Newton South High School at 140 Brandeis Rd. in Newton Centre. Kids will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a big rig, touch the scoop of a digger, see the inside of an ambulance, sit in a police cruiser, walk up the ramp of a delivery vehicle, and much more. More than three dozen trucks are expected. From noon to 1, there will be a special horn-free hour for kids who may be sensitive to loud noises. Proceeds from a suggested donation of $7 per family/carload will be used to support non-profit programming for children and families in Newton. Families bringing a canned good will receive $2 off. Participating families can chose to have their children fingerprinted at no cost through “MY CHIP.” Free snacks, and other suprises are expected! http://www.newton.k12.ma.us/newtonpartnership/
