Historic Newton is presenting two family programs taking place during February school vacation week. The cost for each program is $15 per family ($10 for members), which includes museum admission, snack, and materials. These programs will take place at Historic Newton's Jackson Homestead and Museum, 527 Washington Street in Newton. Join us for a celebration of the exhibit, Newton Community Farm - Past, Present and Future. This exhibit explores the plot's history as a New England family farm in the 18th and 19th centuries and then under the ownership of the Angino Family in the 20th, and describes its current use as a community resource, modeling sustainable agricultural and environmental practices and serving as an educational center. Join us for our family-friendly outdoor festival in celebration of the Jackson Homestead. Learn through hands-on activities how Newton families lived in the 1800s. Travel back in time to the 19th century as you learn to weave wool into cloth, make your own butter, press your own cider, and much more! Rain date Sunday October 3. Free.

Historic Newton presents 28th Annual Newton House Tour

Newton, MA . . . Historic Newton will hold its 28th Annual Newton Tour on Sunday, May 23 from noon to 5 pm.

The Newton House Tour offers the public a rare opportunity to tour private residences throughout the city. The tour showcases a wonderful selection of outstanding renovations, restorations, old and new architecture, interior design and landscaping.
