Dear Artists,

The New Art Center has upcoming exhibition opportunities!
Read below for more information.

Call for Art for our Satellite Gallery Program:

The New Art Center is thrilled to expand our Satellite Gallery Program to include a new partnership with Berry-Dunn, an accounting firm located in Waltham. We are currently looking for artwork from current/former students and faculty of New Art Center to present for this new location, as well as continuing to display artwork at the offices of Freedman Healthcare LLC and the Newton Highlands and Newtonville branches of Brookline Bank. Applications for these satellite galleries are accepted on a rolling basis with our next rotations occurring in May.

Benefits of our art-lending program are that your artwork will be on view for 6 months and offers a potential for sales and making connections. When possible, artists also receive a stipend for the use of their artwork! All work must be gallery-ready with hanging hardware such as D-rings or wired as well as stretched or framed. All themes and mediums are welcomed! We are especially interested in large scale artwork at this time.

Eligibility New Art Center Affiliation. Submission deadline 5/2.

New Art Corridor at the Trio:

We are pleased to announce that the New Art Center will be opening a publicly accessible exhibition space at the Trio of Newton. Thanks to the immense generosity of support of New Art’s mission from The Village Bank and Mark Development, we have created a new street level exhibition space called New Art Corridor in the freshly constructed Trio building located at 845 Washington Street, Newtonville. Throughout the year, New Art will host small, in-person, and virtual exhibitions at the New Art Corridor. As this publicly zoned space has 24-hour access, all artworks will be installed using security hardware and there are security cameras in place as well.

Our first call for art is for Women in Abstraction curated by Destiny Palmer. This inaugural exhibition in our BIPOC curatorial series will examine more inclusive conversations in Art about Women and Abstraction. In response to recent exhibitions about Women Abstract Artists at several institutions including The Denver Museum of ArtHauser Wirth & SchimmelKemper Museum of Contemporary Art, and MoMa, the New Art Center is looking for abstract works that align with this content to engage in dialogues of gender, race, class, and history as it relates to abstraction. This show will have work on view in-person as well as in our virtual gallery. During the exhibition, we will have panel discussions and studio visits with participating artists. We look forward to seeing your work. The submission deadline is 5/23.
