Newton North and Newton South Lab Aides
Both Newton North and Newton South science departments are looking for lab aides for the 2023-24 school year. It’s a terrific opportunity to work with students in a high school lab environment. It is also a chance to provide invaluable support to our science teachers and to learn what it is like to work in our excellent high schools.
Job Description:
The program aide/1:1 aide supports Biology & Chemistry teachers in preparing for classroom labs and demonstrations. The classroom aide provides a variety of support including creating solutions, organizing the stockroom, and complying with safety practices.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Written language, technology skill and interpersonal communication skill to support communication among team members, with community contacts, school staff and parents is required
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Biology, Chemistry, or related field)
- Experience working in a laboratory setting preparing solutions, following safety protocols, and maintaining sterile environment when necessary.
- Experience working with high school students in a laboratory setting.
