Newton Community Pride (NCP) has opened applications for their fall 2023 round of community micro grants. NCP is providing $10,000 toward their 2023 community micro grant commitment. Grants must align with the mission of NCP – to support arts & culture, public art, service and beautification in the Newton community.

NCP offers two micro grant cycles a year. Grants average between $500-$1,000. Since NCP began its Community Micro Grant program, over $30,000 in financial support has been provided to artists, arts organizations and neighborhood groups.

NCP’s most recent grant recipients include Newton Piano Summit, Newton Theater Company’s LGBTQ+ Voices Monologue Project, Klezmer Dance Party in Newton Highlands, India Day Newton Celebration, Music Mondays at the Scandinavian Center, and Indigenous Peoples Day Newton. In addition, NCP awarded Newton Community Farm with a beautification grant.

“Newton Community Pride believes strongly in providing seed money to support local events and projects that enhance and build community,” stated Blair Lesser Sullivan, NCP Executive Director.

“A little bit of financial support goes a long way and we look forward each cycle to investing in more Newton arts and culture programming, public art, service and beautification projects.”, added Lesser Sullivan.

Newton Community Pride is a 501c3 organization building community through free and accessible arts & culture programming, public art, beautification and service projects for all to enjoy. All micro grant applications are due September 1, 2023.
