Haiku Newton, a project sponsored by Newton Community Pride, is currently accepting poetry submissions for its spring 2024 public art initiative designed to bring poems on lawn-style signs to various locations through Newton.

Up to 24 poems will be selected this year and featured on customized yard signs against spring-themed background images. The signs will be placed throughout Newton during April (National Poetry Month), May, and June.

The themes this year are Regeneration, Renewal, and Revisioning.

“Now in its third year, Haiku Newton is a way for the public to engage with poetry in our village centers. We look forward to all the creative submissions and are delighted that NCP is now the project’s sponsor.”, Stated Grey Held, Elizabeth Lund, and Greg Fulchino, co-directors of Haiku Newton.

“NCP is thrilled to sponsor this exciting project to make poetry more publicly accessible in our community,” added Blair Lesser Sullivan, Executive Director of Newton Community Pride.
