Thursday, June 13, noon–1 p.m. The vast majority of individuals want to age in place. In this presentation, aging in place in its many forms will be discussed along with the considerations for what type of living situation is best.

Advocating for yourself. Thursday, June 20, noon–1 p.m. At what point do you ask for help or accept care? This is a challenge for many elder individuals because it can feel as if independence is being challenged. This presentation will address this sensitive issue from the perspective of the aging parent.

Planning for Caregiving: A Practical Guide

Wednesday, September 18, noon–1 p.m. Ideas about preparing for caregiving will be shared with the goal of reducing stress and avoiding challenges. This session will cover the practical step-by-step approaches to planning for caregiving.

An Emotional Guide

Wednesday, September 25, noon–1 p.m. This session will focus on ways to manage the emotional challenges that many caregivers experience. The key points you will gain from this session include: 1) What it means to be a caregiver; 2)Caregiver stress syndrome; 3) Emotional stressors; 4) How to manage stress; and 5) Services and resources for caregivers.
