Book Talk “Small World” Thistle & Leek

January 28 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Shop Local at Newtonville Books in Newton Centre

Please join us for another one-of-a-kind afternoon for a literary lunch at Thistle & Leek with Laura Zigman, whose latest novel, Small World, is gathering raves. Laura will be in conversation with Judy Bolton-Fasman, whose memoir Asylum is a Newtonville Books favorite. Check out the GLOBE review here. Small World was an Editors’ Choice pick in this week’s New York Times Book Review! The print edition mistakenly used the cover of Jonathan Evison’s novel, also titled Small World. (And also excellent!) I fixed it below.

Small World was also featured in the NYT Group Text column here.

Shelby Van Pelt, author of Remarkably Bright Creatures, writes: “I absolutely loved Small World — a wise, warm, and often hilarious exploration of sisterhood and community, set against a nuanced portrait of one family’s tragic past.”

A $55 ticket includes a copy of Small World, a light lunch, a drink, and a Newtonville Books goodie bag that will include a $5 gift card — and ONE goodie bag will include a $50 gift card.

I can’t wait for this event — purchase your ticket via Eventbrite here and come hang out on Saturday!
