Down Under Yoga Ascension Program Gender and Race-based Trauma

This 8-week Series combines education, movement, discussion, and collaborative dialogue aimed at understanding our individual and collective potential within a sociopolitical context. While we as a faculty are specifically inviting any and all BIPOC and Gender Diverse Folxs, all are welcomed in this collaborative learning space!
This event will be in-person while simultaneously live-streamed. Virtual space is unlimited. The physical space is limited.
Education: Gender & Race-based Trauma and the value of Identity-based Spaces such as BIPOC groups with Dr. Valene Whittaker, Ph.D.
Physical Practice: Flow Vinyasa Yoga with Sara Bravo.
Dr. Valene Whittaker is part of leadership of the American Psychological Association, a Psychologist, Military Sexual Trauma Coordinator and Black Special Emphasis Program Manager at the VA Medical Center. Her clinical interests include race-related stress, trauma recovery and resilience; BIPOC communities and the integration of equity, inclusion, and social justice values in clinical practice.
Sara Bravo is the Director of Down Under’s Yoga in Spanish Programming, a respected Boston vinyasa teacher and the curator of Down Under’s On-Demand platform responsible for more inclusive programming.
Every session is 90 minutes: 30 min of education followed by a 60 min physical practice.
