Hidden History: ‘Great Curve’ Painting Explore 19th Century Landscape

August 13 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

How does art tell a story? What can “The Great Curve of the Boston and Worcester Railroad at Newton“, a landscape painting by Samuel Adams Hudson, teach us about Newton and America in the mid-1800s and our lives today? We will explore history, the works and writings of the Hudson River School painters, photographs and journal entries to better understand Historic Newton’s recently acquired painting.
This lecture takes place on Zoom on Thursday, August 13 at 5:00 p.m. Registration is required to receive the link.
