Is Rental Property Ownership Right for You?
June 28 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm$46 - $64
If you’ve ever wondered about making a profit from leasing a home, an upcoming class from Newton Community Education can help sort things out. By attending “Buying and Managing Rental Properties,” students will learn if investing in real estate by becoming a landlord is right for them. The class will take place Thursday, June 28, from 6-9 p.m. at Newton North High School.
Award-winning real estate pro, landlord and veteran educator Marie Presti will teach students what to look for in a property, how to compare and analyze them; and whether or not to hire a property manager. The class will review a landlord’s rights and responsibilities, and cover the differences between renting out part of your owner-occupied property, as well as leasing out a property you don’t live in, whether it’s a single-family, multi-family or condo. Presti, a Newton Corner landlord, is owner/broker of The Presti Group, in Newtonville. She is also president of the Greater Boston Association of Realtors and has taught more than 100 courses through NCE.
The course is $46 per person; $64 per couple. To register, visit Newton Community Education or call 617-559-6999.
