Presented by Benchmark Senior Living, this virtual series is designed to address the challenges that those with dementia and their caregivers face today with helpful information and proven techniques.
On Wed., September 22 at 3 pm, Dr. Brent P. Forester, MD, MSc., chief of the Center of Excellence in Geriatric Psychiatry at McLean Hospital will present Evaluation and Management of Alzheimer’s Disease and related disorders: What is new in 2020? Individuals will learn about behavioral symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, new research, and healthy brain aging to prevent and reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s Disease.
On Wed., October 7 at 2 pm, Mal Allard, LPN, a board-certified Alzheimer’s educator and founder of Their Real World will present Conquering Caregiver Overload. Caregivers will learn what they can do both now and later for themselves to decrease stress, fatigue, and renew one’s spirit.
On Tues., November 10 at 3 pm, Michelle Tristani, MS, CCC-SLP, CDP, PAC trainer, and Benchmark’s corporate director of memory care will present Facilitating Connection, Fostering Engagement: Activities for Normal Aging and Stages of Dementia. Caregivers will explore life-long learning, reminiscing, and sensory engagement experiences to help manage symptoms and create successful days.
