Newton Theatre Company Presents: Antigone

Antigone is a play about civil disobedience, gender inequality, and the democratic voice. Written in 441 BCE, Sophocles’ powerful Greek tragedy deals with Antigone’s attempted burial of her brother Polyneices, in defiance of the laws of Creon and the state, and the tragic repercussions of her audacious act.
