Symphony for Science, an event to benefit MGH’s Frontotemporal Disorders Unit, Monday, May 20, at 8:00 pm, Symphony Hall, Boston
Joel will be a soloist along with members of the Boston Symphony, Keith Lockhart playing piano, and the Kendall Square Orchestra, a new community orchestra comprised mostly of biotech and tech professionals. Joel has put this together with our friend Rick Ranti and a tremendous team from the Kendall Square Orchestra. Rick is a BSO bassoonist whose first wife, Laura Ahlbeck, a top freelance oboist in town, passed away in 2015 after suffering from frontotemporal dementia for several years. In addition to music, the evening will also include short talks by clinicians, researchers, and caregivers. Brian O’Donovan of A Celtic Sojourn on WGBH will be MC. For full details:
