The City’s Planning team is working with Councilors, residents and businesses to design a long-term pilot project to improve Washington Street from Lowell Avenue in Newtonville to Chestnut Street in West Newton Square.
Our goals are to create a safer, more attractive, welcoming environment while improving connections for people who travel, live, work, shop and operate businesses in the neighborhood.
Learn more at a virtual public information meeting on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m. where our Planning team and staff from a traffic engineering firm, Howard Stein Hudson, will share alternative concepts. Here’s the zoom link for your calendar. This meeting will be recorded.
Following this meeting, we will be asking for your feedback to help us to decide on a preferred concept to be brought to the City Council for approval, so it can be advanced to full design and installed in 2025 using ARPA funding.
