Wednesday Program for Senior Learners at Coleman House

The Wednesday Program for Senior Learners (held at 677 Winchester St in Newton) will launch it’s  Fall 2023 session on Oct. 6. This lifelong learning program offers people the opportunity to gather in person to explore, discover and make new friends!

Educational  sessions  for Fall 2023 include explorations of the Gullah Geechee culture of the American South, Allied Propaganda of WWII, and the historic Jewish experience in Rome. Later in the afternoons, we will celebrate Oktoberfest with  acclaimed accordionist Sonny Arbato, move to the rhythms of Latin Jazz with Combo Sabroso, and discover Opera with Madeline Metraux, a 15 year old vocal virtuoso. We also offer a tai chi class at 11:30 AM taught by our 70 year old 2nd degree Blackbelt Phyllis Benjamin, and a 3:30 Art exploration program led by our Expressive Therapist Madeline Ludtke.
