Gas is not safe, not clean, not green.
For the past four years, Mothers Out Front Newton has raised awareness of the hazards of leaking gas to our homes, our health, and our children’s future. We know that gas can cause explosions and fires, pollutes our air indoors and out, and kills our trees. Plus, the utilities charge us for the lost gas. This month we created the Newton Gas Leak Gazette because the problem is getting worse. The number of Newton’s unrepaired gas leaks has grown to more than 900! Join Us. We organized an Annual Gas Leak Tagging event. We advocate for National Grid to be more accountable and transparent and state and local policies to fix gas pipeline leaks and transition to clean energy.
